Barry Scott

Barry Scott, the son of Alvin and Mildred Smith Scott of Puxico, was born in Poplar Bluff on July 9, 1941 and died at the Three Rivers Healthcare Center North Campus in Poplar Bluff on Jan. 5, 2002, at the age of 60. Mr. Scott had lived in the Puxico area all his life. He was a roofing contractor and was the owner of Com-Serv Inc. of Puxico. He was a 1959 graduate of Puxico High School and attended Missouri University in Columbia from 1960-1962. He attended the Leora Baptist Church in Leora. On Jan. 23, 1965 he was united in marriage to Virginia Henderson in Puxico, she survives of the home in Puxico. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by one son, James. C. Scott of Dexter; by two daughters, Regina Baugher of Puxico and Sherri Clinton of Nashville, Tenn.; by six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Doug Scott of Puxico. Visitation was held at the Watkins & Son Funeral Home in Puxico on Monday, Jan. 7 after 6 p.m. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel with Rev. Doug Scott of Puxico officiating and assisted by Rev. Dean Medlin of Parma. Interment followed in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
