Ollie Bea McRoy, daughter of the late Clumb and May Hester Pruitt, was born at Bloomfield on Oct. 9, 1912 and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Dec. 23, 2001, at the age of 89. Mrs. McRoy was a life-long resident of Bloomfield and a charter member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield. She worked at Pepper's Bakery in Bloomfield for 25 years and later worked for Dr. Beckett in Bloomfield. On Sept. 26, 1926 she was united in marriage to Bud McRoy, he preceded her in death on March 23, 1997. Survivors include one son, Edward McRoy of Bloomfield; one brother, Bob Pruitt of Wappapello; one sister, Rosa Lee Dickerson of Flint, Mich.; one grandson, Dallas McRoy of Bloomfield; two granddaughters, Darlene Bowling and Tresia Barnes, both of Bloomfield; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Other relatives and many friends survive to mourn her passing. Visitation will be held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 27 at 1 p.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge of all arrangements. PAID
