Bessie A. Noyes

Bessie A. Noyes, daughter of the late Charles Plez Bowman and Amelia Nolan Bowman, was born at Parma on Oct. 14, 1908 and died in the Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus at Poplar Bluff on Dec. 9, 2001, at the age of 93. She was united in marriage to Lincoln James Noyes at Toledo, Ohio on Feb. 25, 1927. To this union three children were born. Mr. Noyes preceded her in death on April 27, 1975. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Dixie A. Murphy and Faye O. Noyes; by two brothers, Claude Bowman and Raymond Bowman; by two sisters, Ethel Garrison and Mildred Parker. Mrs. Noyes was a cook for Middlesmith School of Rural Bernie and cooked for the Bernie School District in Bernie until her retirement in 1973. She was of the General Baptist Faith. She is survived by one son, Jerry Noyes of Bernie; by one granddaughter; and by one great-granddaughter. Graveside services were conducted at the Bernie Cemetery on Tuesday morning, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Maxwell Lewis officiating. Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home of Bernie in charge of all arrangements.
