Dorothy LaVerne Caldwell, daughter of the late Lee Rowe and Maudie Joseph Rowe, was born on Jan. 29, 1931 at Dexter and died in the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter on Nov. 26, 2001, at the age of 70. Mrs. Caldwell attended the Pleasant Grove Church near Dexter, was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter. She was united in marriage to Richard Caldwell on May 22, 1949 at Dexter, he survives of the home in Dexter. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Michael Caldwell of Poplar Bluff; by one daughter, Brenda Rowling of Sikeston; by two sisters, Betty Heinlein of Belleville, Ill. and Barbara Hargrave of Dupo, Ill.; by two grandchildren; by two great-grandchildren; and by one step-grandson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Rowe. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 in the Rainey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dale Shearon officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
