Anna Duley

Anna Duley, the daughter of the late Elmer Lewis and Bessie Irene Purcell Sanders, was born in Essex on Dec. 19, 1946 and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Nov. 20, 2001, at the age of 54. Mrs. Duley was a former resident of Essex, but had resided in Idalia the past 10 years. She was a member of the South Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church. On July 10, 1993 she was united in marriage to Melvin Duley near Essex. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1999. She is survived by one son, Richard Sanders of Bloomfield; by four brothers, Junior, Roy, Donald and Doyle Sanders, all of Essex; and by two sisters, Mildred Williams and Geraldine Duncan, both of Essex. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Charles Sanders and two sisters, Martha DeSmyther and Wilma Alberson. Visitation will be held at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. in the Watkins & Son Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth White of Bloomfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
