LeRoy Parkinson, the son of the late Thomas and Bernice Johnson Parkinson, was born in Essex on Oct. 26, 1927 and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Nov. 16, 2001, at the age of 74. Mr. Parkinson was a retired carpenter. He was a former resident of St. Louis and Calif., but had resided in Dexter the past 15 years. Surviving are one son, Dennis Parkinson of Redding, Calif.; four daughters, Clara Parkinson of Dexter, Marlene O'Qinn of Oregon, Lois Hunt and Carol Ross, both of Redding, Calif.; two brothers, Arthur Parkinson of St. Louis and Mel Johnson of Mich.; one sister, Clara Litzler of Dexter; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
