Rev. James Poe

Rev. James R. Poe, son of Roy Poe and the late Agnes Hankins Poe, was born at Bloomfield on June 1, 1935 and died at Nov. 18, 2001 at Bloomington, Ill., at the age of 66. Rev. Poe was a member of United Methodist Church and was employed by United Methodist Churches as a Minister. He was a retired pastor of the Great Rivers Conference of the United Methodist Church in Ill. On Oct. 7, 1967 he was united in marriage to Marian Rae Keys, she survives of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his father, Roy Poe of Bloomfield; by one son, Stephen Poe of Bloomington, Ill.; by two daughters, Kim Bogle of Maroa, Ill. and Christine Jacobs of Watseka, Ill.; by two sisters, Carolyn Bell of Dexter and Brenda Horner of Imperial; and by four grandchildren. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Lisewski.

Visitation will be held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23. Graveside rites will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24 at West Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Rev. Ron Dunavin officiating. Chiles-Cooper Funeral Service of Bloomfield in charge of all arrangements.
