Cleo Alvin Mossman, son of the late Heber Mossman and Millie Fagan Mossman, was born on Feb. 26, 1924 at Puxico and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Nov. 15, 2001, at the age of 77. Mr. Mossman was a member of the First Church of God in Dexter, a former automobile mechanic in the San Francisco Bay area for 40 years, and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Sarah Marie Estes on March 5, 1943 at Dexter, she survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by one brother, Rev. Thomas Mossman of Poplar Bluff; by two half-brothers, W.J. Lowe of Piedmont and Claude Lowe of Puxico; by two sisters, Mayme Spangler of Roseburg, Ore. and Thelma Brown of Dexter; and by one half-sister, Josetta Brown of Clinton, Pa. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hermis Mossman and Melvis Mossman; by one half-brother, Merlan Mossman; by one sister, Katherine Corbin; and by one half-sister, Minnie O'Neal. Visitation was held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18 in the Rainey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
