Linus E. Bock of Advance, son of the late Carl and Carrie Gluckhertz Bock, was born on Aug. 26, 1912 in Cape County and died Nov. 13, 2001 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 89. Linus was a retired farmer and a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Advance. He was united in marriage to Geraldine White on May 5, 1932. She preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 1986. He later married Violet Noble on May 7, 1987, she survives of the home. Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one infant son; one daughter; and two brothers. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Judy Nilsen of Sturdivant; by one step-son, Ron Noble of Advance; by one step-daughter, Joyce Bell of Protem, Mo.; by one brother, Lyman Bock of Sacramento, Calif.; by three grandchildren; by nine step-grandchildren; by two great-grandchildren; 18 step great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home at Advance on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 4 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Morgan Funeral Chapel on Friday, Nov. 16 with Bro. J.D. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance with the Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of all arrangements.
