Harold L. Shipman, son of the late Claud Shipman and Ada Bell Myers Shipman, was born on Jan. 22, 1922 in Hornersville, Mo. an died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Oct. 25, 2001, at the age of 79. Mr. Shipman was a member of the Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church in Dexter, worked for the state conservation as a Fire Fighter in Bollinger County, a member of the Neighborhood Watch, and a resident of Dexter. Survivors include two sons, Claud and Christopher Shipman of Dexter; three daughters, Carol Fouts of Columbia, Fern Shepherd of Essex, and Connitta Beeghly of St. Charles; one sister, Fern McClure of Mesa, Ariz.; by 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, Oct. 26 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Phillips officiating. Internment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
