Raleigh Pence

Raleigh Pence of Advance, the son of the late Ealy E. and Manda Van Cleve Pence, was born Feb. 9, 1925 at Wolfe County, Ky. and died at the Advance Nursing Center on Oct. 24, 2001, at the age of 76. Mr. Pence was a retired dairyman. He worked for Galloway Dairy Co. in Neenah, Wis. for 20 years, was a member of the Teamster Union for 22 years and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Advance.

He was united in marriage to Margaret McClain on May 27, 1944 at Newport, Ky., she survives of the home. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Survivors include one son, Raleigh James Pence of Advance; by two daughters, Saundra Weitz of Oshkosh, Wis. and Janice Pence of Iola, Wis.; by two brothers, Alfred Pence of Eureka, Wis. and John Pence of Portage, Wis.; by three sisters, Gertrude Moore of Zenia, Ohio, Ellen Farra and Mollie Huggins, both of Dayton, Ohio; by six grandchildren; and by eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Morgan Funeral Chapel on Friday, Oct. 26 at 12 p.m. with Rev. Brad Moore officiating. Interment will be held at the Eureka Cemetery in Eureka, Wis. with graveside rites on Monday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of all arrangements.
