Rose Grady

Rose Grady, daughter of the late J.B. and Vandora Haddock Grady, was born on Feb. 2, 1935 at Arbyrd and died in the emergency room at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Oct. 18, 2001 at the age of 66. Ms. Grady was a member of the Bernie Church of Christ, was a graduate of Harding University in Searcy, Ark., with a bachelors and masters degrees. She was a retired high school mathematics teaching, working for various school districts throughout Southeast Missouri. She belongs to the Stoddard County Retired Teachers Association and served on the State Retired Teachers Association membership committee. She was a member of the Breast Cancer Support Group and a resident of Dexter. Survivors include one sister, Jewel Grady of Dexter; by four sisters-in-law, Dora Grady of Dexter, Helen Grady of Sikeston, Ellen Grady of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Georgia Shearer of Benton; by four nephews, Gary Grady of Dexter, Verlon Grady of Atlanta, Geo., Sam Grady of Sikeston and Kurt Grady of Fairview Heights, Ill.; by two nieces, Elisa Turnbull of Knoxville, Tenn., and Shirley Wood of Dexter; by 16 great nieces and nephews; by 15 great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin Grady, Paul Grady, M.H. (HAMP) Grady and Walter P. Grady. Friends may call at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001 in the Rainey Funeral Chapel with Jim Faughn and Stan Dauck officiating. Internment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
