Dorothy Rainey

Dorothy E. Rainey, daughter of the late Orville Chesley Rainey and Nina Norman Rainey, was born on Oct. 2, 1914 at Dexter and died in the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter on Oct. 6, 2001, at the age of 87. Ms. Rainey was a former employee of Elder Manufacturing in Dexter, a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and a resident of Dexter. She is survived by one brother, Charles Rainey of Bonne Terre; and by two sisters, Ruth Dreadon and Evelyn Duley, both of Dexter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Marvin Rainey, Lee Rainey, Loyd Rainey, Bob Rainey, Haden Rainey and Dale Rainey. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, in the Rainey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dale Grissom officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
