Eleanor E. Best Eleanor Estelle Best of Cape Girardeau, the daughter of the late Arthur F. and Ada H. Peck Vining was born Feb. 11, 1918 at Utica, N.Y. and died Sept. 28, 2001 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 85. Mrs. Best was affiliated with the Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau and a resident of Cape Girardeau. On July 18, 1936 she was united in marriage to Jack Brownley Best at Milford Pike County, Pa. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1963. She is survived by one daughter, Diana Cargle of Dexter; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers, and two grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau on Sunday, Sept. 30 from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be on Monday, Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Anselm Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with Ford & Sons Funeral Home of Cape Girardeau in charge of all arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, Broadway & Caruthers Street, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63701.
