James Keena

James Edward Keena, son of the late Tom Keena and Stella Smith Keena, was born on March 16, 1928 at Wappapello and died at his residence near Puxico on Sept. 20, 2001, at the age of 73. Mr. Keena was a farmer, a veteran of the United States Army and a resident of rural Puxico. He was united in marriage to Leta Williams on Oct. 29, 1955 at Puxico, she survives of the home near Puxico. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Terry Keena of Magness, Ark. and Tim Keena of Puxico; one daughter, Dixie McCollum of Bloomfield; three brothers, Rev. Melvin Keena of Poplar Bluff, Henry Keena of Bloomfield, and Glen Keena of Davis, Olka.; one sister, Helen Branch of Pevely; and two grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Wayne Keena, one daughter, Sharon Darline Keena; and two sisters. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, Sept. 21 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rusty Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
