Christine Pyles, was born on April 10, 1923 at Dyersburg, Tenn. and died Sept. 18, 2001 in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter, at the age of 78. Mrs. Pyles was a homemaker and attended the New Bethel Baptist Church in Dexter. She was united in marriage to Chester Floyd Pyles on May 12,1942 in Portageville. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1990. Survivors include two sons, William Richard Pyles of Arbyrd, Mo. and David Pyles of Dexter; one sister Ann Lois Pyles of West Frankfort, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Princess Fay Pyles and Dorothy Imogene Pyles; one brother; one grandson; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clifford Wray officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery at Dexter. Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
