Cecil E. Beaird

Cecil Edward "Dude" Beaird of Kennett, was born Sept. 14, 1910 in Malden, the son of the late Cecil Edward and Margaret Creasey Beaird, and died on Sept. 16, 2001 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 91. He was united in marriage to Ester Ioma Bishop on Sept. 16, 1939 in Campbell, she survives of the home in Kennett. Besides his parents, Mr. Beaird was preceded in death by one daughter, Jearlene Bay; three brothers, John, Billy and Robert Beaird; and one sister, Mildred Beaird. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Peggy Gilooly of Dexter; five sons, Bud Beaird of Swartz Creek, Mich., Leo Beaird of Flint, Mich., Ed Beaird of Sikeston, Rick Beaird of Dexter, and Kenny Beaird of Kennett; two brothers, Earl Beaird of Malden and Lee Beaird of St. Louis; five sisters, Daisey Henderson of Honolulu, Hawaii, Dovie House of Malden, Betty Beaird of Springfield, Rosie Reel of Fla., and Gladys Edwards of Flat River; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren. Visitation was held at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. at the McDaniel Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Beaird officiating. Internment followed in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett was in charge of all arrangements.
