Charles Choat

Charles D. Choat, son of the late Albert Edward Choat and Essie Pullum Choat, was born on Jan. 3, 1928 at Puxico and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on Aug. 11, 2001 at the age of 73. Mr. Choat attended the Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church near Bloomfield, was a self-employed heavy equipment operator and a resident of Bloomfield. He was united in marriage to Maxine Caldwell on Aug. 16, 1947 at Poplar Bluff. She survives of the home in Bloomfield. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Sharon Stanford of Dexter; by one granddaughter, Adwan Fowler of Dexter; by one great-grandson, Dylan Fowler of Dexter; by five sisters, Edna Scates of Poplar Bluff, Vivian Merideth of Bloomfield, Jean Mattingly of Puxico, Glenda Propst of House Springs and Mary Ruth Brown of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Lavan Choat; by three brothers, Earl Choat, Howard Choat and Isaac Choat; and by one sister, Pearl Sutton. Visitation was held on Sun., Aug. 12 from 5-8 p.m. at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services were conducted in the Rainey Funeral Chapel on Mon., Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bob Bradford and Rev. Robert Lafferty officiating. Interment followed in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. PAID
