Clarence Still

Clarence R. Still, the son of the late Jown W. and Pearl Mae Harrold Still was born in Poplar Bluff on April 20, 1930 and died Friday, May 23, 2003 at his home in Dexter at the age of 73 years. Mr. Still moved to Dexter in 1994. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served three tours in Germany, and also tours in Korea, Vietnam and Panama. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter. On August 14, 1951, he was married to Alice M. Gockley in Kenbridge, Va. He is survived by his wife: Alice M. Still of Dexter; three sons, Robert Dale, Gary Wayne and Patrick Neal Still all of Dexter; three daughters, Jennifer Kay Rountree of Claxton, Ga., Cheryl Marie Long of Strasburg, Va. and Carolyn Louise Richardson of Charleston, S.C.; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Otis Still of Fort Wayne, Ind., Kenneth Still of Pacific; and one sister, Helen Calvert of Miller. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Visitation was held on Monday, May 26, 2003 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Keith Garland of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield.
