Willie R. Reese, the son of the late William Hamilton and Emma Asilee McFarlan Reese, was born in Dexter on June 4, 1925, and died Monday, May 19, 2003, at his home in Dexter at the age of 77. Mr. Reese had lived in Dexter most of his life. He was a retired farm worker and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. and the Blinded Veterans of America. On April 13, 1946, he was married to Genevieve Wilkes in Piggott, Ark. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Reese of Dexter; five sons, Jimmy, Danny, Michael and Jeff Reese, all of Dexter, and Perry Reese of Sikeston; two daughters, Janice Sugg of Dexter and Judy Rainey of Memphis; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Roger Reese on May 19, 1996. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2003, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Chuck Hull of Puxico and Rev. Vaughn Wright of Dexter officiating. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service is in charge of all arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
