Anna May Guethle, daughter of the late Fred Sauer and Philomenia Dietsch Sauer, was born on May 20, 1922, in Dexter and departed this life at Cypress Point Health Care in Dexter on June 8, 2003, at the age of 81. Mrs. Guethle was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter, a former bookkeeper for Dexter Automotive, and a resident of Dexter. She was united in marriage to Oscar Joseph Guethle on November 23, 1949, in Dexter. Mr. Guethle preceded her in death on June 22, 1994. Survivors include: one son, Mark Guethle and wife Sharon of Dexter; three daughters, Donna Simonton of Cape Girardeau, Rosemary Jennemann and husband Steve of Pevely, and Loretta Morrow and husband Rick of Dexter; seven grandchildren, Kara Glaus, Anna Whiteman, and Willa Fees, all of Jackson, Amy Jennemann and Ryan Jennemann, both of Pevely, Shawn Guethle and Chris Guethle, both of Dexter; four sisters, Benetta Svoboda of Avenel, N.J., Martha Guethle, Lelia Backfisch, and Cecilia Bower, all of Dexter. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Ray Simonton; three brothers, Albert Sauer, Joseph Sauer, and George Sauer; and three sisters, Theresia Reichert, Margaret Olliges, and Helen Wickham. Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2003. A Parish prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday evening. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2003, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter with Father John Sheley officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson's Association at Campus Box 8111, 660 South Euclid Avenue, St. Louis, Mo. 63110, or to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter. PAID
