Mark Mathis, son of Carol Sue Davis Whitchurch of Poplar Bluff and the late Robert L. Mathis, was born on Aug. 30, 1965, at Sikeston and died in the Clearview Nursing Center at Sikeston on Monday, June 9, 2003, at the age of 37. He was a former truck driver for W.W. Wood in Broseley and a resident of Sikeston. He was united in marriage to Becky Aycock on Nov. 18, 2001, at Charleston. She survives of the home in Sikeston. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mark Aaron Mathis of Morehouse and Devon Tyler Aycock of Sikeston; one daughter, Ashley N. Mathis of Indianapolis, Ind.; his mother, Carol Sue Whitchurch of Poplar Bluff; one half-brother, Steve Wheatley of Crocker; one half-sister, Mary Jo Masegian of Morehouse; and his step-mother, Marilyn Mathis of Morehouse. Visitation will be from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will then be conducted at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Etsel Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
