Melba Jean Fry

Melba Fry, daughter of the late Dave Caldwell and Elizabeth Minns Caldwell, was born on Aug. 26, 1938, at St. Louis and died at her residence in Bloomfield on Thursday, June 5, 2003, at the age of 64. Mrs. Fry was a former nurse at the University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla., for many years before returning to Bloomfield. She was united in marriage to Johnnie W. Fry on Jan. 19, 1977, in Tampa, Fla. Mr. Fry survives of the home in Bloomfield. Besides her husband, other survivors include one son, Charlie Jarrell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two step-sons, Steven Fry of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Tommy Fry of Stuart, Fla.; one daughter, Terri Lynn McClintock of Arkansas; one step-daughter, Gay Lei Fry of Stuart, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Airola of Steelville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Chuck Caldwell. Mrs. Fry was cremated. There will be no memorial service. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
