Martha "Jimmie" Rickman, the daughter of the late Bedford and Lora Elizabeth McNeil Tucker, was born in Bernie on Aug. 16, 1915, and died in the Malden Nursing Center on Tuesday, May 24, 2003, at the age of 87. Mrs. Rickman had lived in Bernie most of her life. She was retired from Hawley's in St. Charles, Ill., where she made speaker cones and automobile parts. She was a member of the Bernie Christian Church. She was united in marriage to William Edward Rickman at Piggott, Ark., on Dec. 13, 1936. To this union six children were born. Mr. Rickman preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1945. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by one son, Johnny Rickman; one brother, John Tucker; and two sisters, Beulah Lay and Bonnie Tucker. Mrs. Rickman is survived by two sons: Don Rickman of Malden and Ferrell Rickman of Ivins, Utah; three daughters, Helen D. Stull of Malden, Bonnie Blanchard of St. Charles, Ill., and Edna Tindell of Bernie; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Willy Butler of Malden officiating. Martha Duffie Reynolds of Bernie with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
