Cletus Francis

Cletus C. Francis, 77, of Kelso, was born Jan. 25, 1926, at Advance. He was the son of the late David and Lillie Murry Francis and died May 31, 2003, at the Chaffee Nursing Center. Mr. Francis retired after 20 years at General Grocery Co. in St. Louis, where he was an order selector. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. On December 3, 1945, he and Evoleen Shell were united in marriage at Grassy, and she survives of the home. Other survivors include: two daughters, LaVonda Durham of Jonesburg, and Belenda Hanna of Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother, Lloyd Francis of Advance; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A brother also preceded him in death. Visitation was June 1, 2003, from 4:30-8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral services were held Monday, June 2, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Bro. Sam Ramdial officiating and Bro. Norman Elledge assisting. Interment followed at the Bollinger County Memorial Park in Marble Hill.
