Terry Hatchel, son of the late James Hatchel and Dora Elizabeth Cox Hatchel, was born on Oct. 21, 1935, in Stoddard County and died in the Regional Medical Center of North East Arkansas at Jonesboro, Ark., on Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at the age of 67. Mr. Hatchel was of the Baptist faith, a retired independent truck driver, a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the American Legion and a resident of Caraway, Ark. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Marian Adams. Mrs. Hatchel survives of the home in Caraway, Ark. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, David Hatchel of Saginaw, Mich.; two daughters, Janet Knapp and Lori Lewie, both of Saginaw, Mich.; two brothers, Perry Hatchel of Bernie and Frank Hatchel of Dexter; four sisters, Emogene Hodge of Flint, Mich., Joyce Blaylock of Essex, Eula Mae Carson and Violetta Minton, both of Bernie; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at the Taylor Cemetery near Essex.
