George Daril Lovins, son of the late Hollie Andrew Lovins and BelaMae Jordan Lovins Printz, was born on April 16, 1935, at Moccassin Hollow and departed this life in Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter from leukemia on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at the age of 68. Mr. Lovins was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, the owner of C&L Orchard in Dexter and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Naomi Ruth Corgan on July 9, 1954, and to this union three children were born. He then married Lynda Dowdy on Oct. 16, 1993. Mrs. Lovins survives of the home near Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Randy and wife Dana of Dexter; two daughters, Sharon McCord and husband Dan of Dexter and Lisa Clark of St. Louis; one step-son, Damon Dowdy and wife Amy of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Harley Glinn Lovins of Salem; eight grandchildren: Scott McCord, Kimberly Young, Cheirlisa Clark, Cheirlita Clark, Rebecca Lovins, Morgan Lovins, Joseph Lovins and Evan Dowdy; one great-grandchild, Breanna Young. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Kathy Lovins-Osborn; and one brother in infancy, Arley Lovins. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Fred Leist officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Hope Lodge, 4215 Lindell Avenue, St. Louis, Mo. 63108. PAID
