Ruby Myers

Ruby Katherine Myers, daughter of the late Richard Burke and Leona Rose Burke, was born on June 29, 1915, at Acorn Ridge and died on Thursday, July 31, 2003, in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter at the age of 88. Mrs. Myers was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter, a retired employee of Elder Manufacturing Company at Dexter and a resident of Dexter. She was united in marriage to John Richard Myers on Feb. 2, 1936, at Bell City. Mr. Myers preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1977. Survivors include four sons: Marion "Bud" Myers, John Richard Myers, Charles Leroy Myers, and James Dale Myers, all of Dexter; three daughters, Carolyn Sue Davis of Bloomfield, Dora Ann May and Ruth Morgan, both of Dexter; one brother, Martin Burke of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Clayton Burke; and two sisters, Bessie Bradshaw and Sara Ponkey. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Heitman officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
