Lacy Walker Cooper, daughter of the late William Hill and Mary Carolyn Berry Hill, was born on July 26, 1909, in Ethridge, Tenn. and died at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at the age of 93. Mrs. Cooper was of the Southern Baptist faith, a home-maker, a former resident of Bernie, and was currently residing in Dexter. She was united in marriage to Alva "Stubbie" Walker on September 8, 1930, in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Walker preceded her in death on March 20, 1965. She then married Leonard Cooper. Mr. Cooper preceded her in death on December 15, 1970. Survivors include one son, David Walker of Dexter; five daughters, June Hester of Branson, Clara Pullum of Chaffee, Joyce Mills of McKinney, Tex., Mabel Snider and Judy Crump, both of Dexter; 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands and parents, Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Scott Crump, Mark Mills, and Darlene Pullum; one brother; and three sisters. Mrs. Cooper was cremated and there are no immediate plans for a memorial service. Memorial donations may be made to the Dexter First Baptist Church Small Wonders Children's Development Center.
