Christine Wolfe Killmer

Christine Wolfe Killmer, daughter of the late John T. and Mary Lavona Kesler Webb, was born in Tula, Miss., August 16, 1906, and died at the Willard Care Center in Willard on Thursday, July 3, 2003, at the age of 96. Mrs. Killmer was a former resident of Dexter and had lived in Walnut Grove since 1992. She was a charter member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter and was currently a member of the Walnut Grove First Baptist Church. She had owned and operated the Wolfe Grocery in Dexter from 1956 until 1967. On October 14, 1923, she married William Bearnard Wolfe and he preceded her in death on August 23, 1960. On August 11, 1973, she married Herschel Killmer and he preceded her in death on June 19, 1975. Mrs. Killmer is survived by three sons: Edward E. Wolfe of Terrebonne, Ore., James B. Wolfe of Walnut Grove and Freddie R. Wolfe of Narrowsburg, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Other relatives survive. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Howard, Horace, and Cletus Webb; one sister, Mildred Land; and one son, Myron D. Wolfe. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2003, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, July 10, 2003, at 10 a.m. in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with the Bro. Mike Watkins of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
