Thomas Richard Vollmer

Thomas Vollmer, son of Eileen Tumbleson of Essex and the late William Tumbleson, was born on July 22, 1946 in St. Louis, Mo., and died at the John J. Pershing Veterans Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on Wednesday, July 2, at the age of 57. Mr. Wollmer was a self-employed painter, a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam Era, and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Sandra Freeman on Dec. 24, 1977 in Essex and to this union two children were born. Besides his mother, Eileen Jackson Tumbleson of Essex, he is survived by two daughters, Tonya Jones and Meredith Fielder, both of Dexter, and by two step-grandchildren. Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, July 4 with funeral services held on Friday, July 4, 2003, at 10 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Weldon Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Mo.
