Annas Speakes, daughter of the late Bryant Baker and Madline Mitchell Baker, was born July 25, 1932, in Rives and died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at the Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff at the age of 70. She was married to Edward Speakes on August 30, 1951, in Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Speakes was a resident of Clarkton and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include one son, Paul Speakes of Marshfield; one daughter, Debbie Jones of Seymour; two sisters, Joyce Baker of Clarkton and Nanny Avery of Dexter; three brothers, Burlen Baker of Dalton, Mass., Vernon Baker of Drummonds, Tenn., and Donald Baker of Beaufort, S.C.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation was held Monday, June 30, 2003, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Bradshaw Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Mike Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
