Julia Yvonne Huffman Norton

Julia Yvonne Huffman Norton, daughter of J.Y. and Fern Huffman, was born on November 1, 1936 and died on Friday, June 20, 2003 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. at the age of 66. On December 27, 1952 Mrs. Norton was married to Charles Norton in Pocahontas, Ark. Mr. Norton survives of the home. She and her husband founded and operated C.E. Norton Company in 1983, where she was office manager. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Survivors include: her husband, Charles Norton; one son, Ed Norton of Poplar Bluff; three daughters, Terre Johnson of Poplar Bluff; Kerre Cassidy of Collierville, Tenn. and Julie Smothers of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Don Huffman of Azle, Texas; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Lindell. Visitation was held on Monday, June 23, 2003 at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff with Dr. William Vail officiating. Interment followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
