Genivea Jackson, daughter of the late Jacob L. Williamson and Edna Grubbs Williamson was born on December 29, 1926 at Parma and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at the age of 76. Mrs. Jackson retired from the Brown Shoe Company in Bernie and was a resident of Bernie. She was united in marriage to Dennis Jackson on February 14, 1957 at Hernando, Miss. Mr. Jackson preceded her in death on June 3, 2002. Surivors include: three sons, Robert and Larry Franklin of Bloomfield and Gerald Jackson of Dexter; seven daughters, Loretta Gammon of Fredericktown, Brenda Irwin of Morley, Linda Myers, Yvonne Gord, Donna Bolin, Joy Burnett and Jill Hampton, all of Dexter; one step-daughter, Brenda Phillips of Rolla; four brothers, J. L. Williamson of Poplar Bluff; Dale Williamson of Denton, Texas; Ray Williamson of Bloomfield and Jerry Williamson of Millersville; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one step-son, Dwayne Jackson; one brother, Gene Williamson; and one sister, Fredia Green. Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gerald King officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
