Dr. Edward Lee Snider, born March 10, 1930, in Stoddard County, passed away in his home in Cape Girardeau on Sunday, June 15, 2003. Dr. Snider graduated from the University of Missouri on June 5, 1962, with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and went on to own and operate Skyview Animal Clinic. He was a member of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee and Cape Girardeau County Pork Producers Association. He was also veterinarian for the Southeast Missouri District Fair, an honorary member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and and honorary Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, where he served on the Executive Board for six years. On August 19, 1950, he was married to Lurlyne Lee Kincy Snider in Dexter. Survivors include: three sons, Ray Dennis Snider, Ralph Lee Snider, Dean Ryan Snider; one daughter, Jan Ellen Grammer; two brothers, Harold "Pete" Snider of Dexter and Dr. Glen Snider of Stockbridge, Ga.; two sisters, Dorlus Moore and Betty Irvin, both of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. Snider and Emma Lee Clifft Snider; two brothers; and one sister. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. at the Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau on Tuesday, June 17, 2003. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Ford & Sons Funeral Home on Mt. Auburn in Cape Girardeau with Rev. Hal Greene officiating. Pallbearers will be Dustin Snider, Ryan Snider, Jay Snider, Aodhan Durham, Kyle Grammer, and David Matthews.
