Mary Madeline Woodruff

Mary Madeline Woodruff, the daughter of the late Logan W. and Mildred Hutchcraft Clark, was born in Dudley on April 28, 1923, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at the age of 80. Mrs. Woodruff had lived in Puxico most of her life. She had been a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico for 45 years. On Nov. 23, 1940, she was married to Samuel Woodruff in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 1999. Surviving are one son, Ronald Woodruff of Jackson; four daughters, Donna Lewis of Lafayette, Tenn., Luann Baugher of Puxico, Doris Seabaugh of Holcomb, and Marlene Lowe of Kennett; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Dean and Dennis Elton Woodruff. Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico with the Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico officiating. Interment followed in the Taylor Cemetery near Essex.
