Lowell Throgmorton, the son of Albert and Edna Nettles Throgmorton, was born in Piggott, Ark., on Aug. 24, 1924, and died at his home in Bloomfield on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at the age of 78. Mr. Throgmorton had lived in the Bloomfield and Dexter areas for 57 years. He was a retired veterinarian assistant. He was a member of the Hill General Baptist Church in Bloomfield. On Oct. 28, 1944, he was married to Margrettia Stoker in Piggott, Ark. Surviving are his wife, Margrettia Throgmorton of the home; also one son, Randy Throgmorton of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Kenny Carney of Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Jeff Carney of Sperry, Okla., and Jeana Brownback of Centerville, Kan.; two great-grandsons, Jeremy Carney of Sperry, Okla., and Colton Byram of Centerville, Kan.; one brother, Doyne Throgmorton of Ballwin; two sisters, Hazel Meyer of Bridgeton and Wilma Testorelli of Romulus, Mich.; two aunts, Lura Turman and Ethel Bryant of Hot Springs, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Gerald King officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
