Lawrence Henry Flowers, the son of the late Henry and Bertie DePriest Flowers, was born in Steele on April 5, 1931, and died on Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, at his home near Parma at the age of 72. Mr. Flowers had lived in the Parma area since 1979. He was a self-employed carpenter. On March 19, 1976, he was married to Connie Simon in Cairo, Ill. He is survived by his wife, Connie Flowers of Parma; two sons, Michael Flowers of Gardner, Kan., and James Moore of Parma; three daughters, Sharon Hillis of Poplar Bluff, Debra Johnson of Parma, and Amanda Flowers Clark of Campbell; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Freddie Cecil of Poplar Bluff, Jimmy Cecil of Steele, Claude Flowers, Berry Cecil and Dean Cecil, all of Campbell. Visitation will be held after 12 p.m. until service time on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma with Rick Holden officiating. Interment will follow in the Parma Cemetery.
