Mary J. Wilson, daughter of the late Osmer Lee Riddell and Sarah Emmaline Sexton Riddell, was born on Dec. 29, 1926, at Mt. Judea, Ark., and died at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, at the age of 76. Mrs. Wilson was one of the founding members of the First Assembly of God Church in Bernie, a loving mother and housewife, and a resident of Bernie for many years. She was united in marriage to Arvil Lee Wilson on Feb. 28, 1943, at Mt. Judea, Ark. Mr. Wilson preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1986. Survivors include three sons, David Wayne Wilson of Pinson, Ala., Carl Joe Wilson of Bloomfield, and Dennis Paul Wilson of Dexter; six daughters, Betty Louise Kilgore of Jasper, Ark., Geneva Lee Sweet of Yellville, Ark., Julie Irene Traughber of Bernie, Iva Jean Bay of Dexter, Kathie Parker of Malden, and Janie Earline Warren of Tonopah, Ariz.; three brothers, Hershell Riddell and James Riddell, both from Malden, and John Herman Riddell of Holcomb; two sisters, Julie Hampton and Mary Potts Darnell, both from Malden; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Earl Wilson; and two brothers, A.J. Riddell and Russell Riddell. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Nathan Lamirand officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
