Imogene L. Davis, the daughter of the late Earnest and Lela Marvel Steele, was born in Hartman, Ark., on Sept. 22, 1930, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at the age of 72. Mrs. Davis had lived in Lindsay, Calif., and moved to Dexter in 1978. She was a retired cook and had owned and operated "The Snack Bar" in Dexter. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter. On Feb. 17, 1948, she was married to Max R. Davis in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1999. Surviving are two sons: Terry Lynn Davis of Dexter and Bobby Ray Davis of Springville, Calif.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Bryant of Dexter; and one brother, James Steele of Dardanelle, Ark. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Reginald, Leon and Harold Steele. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter with Bro. Mike Watkins of Dexter officiating. Interment will be in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
