Edith Belle Middleton

Edith Belle Middleton, 87, of Advance, was born Oct. 6, 1915, at Marston, the daughter of the late John Edward and Mary Edna McCary Coffee, and died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at the Advance Nursing Center.

She was a homemaker and a member of Missionary Baptist church in Leora.

On March 5, 1937, she and Brown Middleton were united in marriage, and he preceded her in death on June 15, 1967.

Survivors include four sons, Brown Middleton, Jr., Barry Middleton and Brad Middleton, all of Advance, and Gary Middleton of Scott City; a daughter, Charlotte Taylor of Bloomfield; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Bess; two grandchildren; and a brother, Jerry Coffee.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with Pastor Brad Moore officiating.

Interment followed in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
