Michael Lee Crain, the son of the late Coy Lee and Frieda Lee Tisdale Crain, was born in Parma on July 25, 1941, and died at the Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Fla., on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at the age of 62.
Mr. Crain grew up in Parma before moving to Carrier Mills, Ill., where he lived for several years and worked as a maintenance and construction worker in a coal mine before moving to Florida three years ago. Mr. Crain served four years in the Marines and 20 years in the Naval Reserve. He was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are one son: Scott Michael Crain of Bernie; one daughter, Kellie Jo Martin of Sikeston; five grandchildren; one brother, Silas Crain of Naples, Fla.; and two sisters, Nancy Stokes of Malden and Patricia Owens of Poplar Bluff.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jon Michael Crain, on Sept. 21, 1971.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma with Rev. John Girdley of Parma officiating.
Interment will follow in the Parma Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard of Southeast Missouri.
