Elmer Ivan Bostic, son of the late Benjamin and Catheryn Knuckles Bostic, was born at Greenville on Jan. 17, 1933, and died at his home in Bloomfield on Sept. 8, 2003, at the age of 70.

Mr. Bostic was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Bloomfield. In August of 1950, he was married to Frances Cox.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Bostic of the home in Bloomfield; two sons, Narvel and Albert Bostic, both of Bloomfield; two daughters, Linda Edwards of Bloomfield and Teresa Swallows of Hunningdon, Tenn.; three brothers, Melvin, Cecil and Jude Bostic, all of Bloomfield; one sister, Cletta Carber of Corcoran, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 9, 2003, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment followed in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
