Joy Angela Long, 76, Dexter, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 2, 1927 in Flippin, Marion County, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Luther Earl and Ida Isadora (Reed) Cunningham.

On July 27, 1946, she and Charles Eugene Long were married in Dexter. Charles preceded her in death on June 22, 1999.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was basically a lifelong area resident.

Survivors include one son, Michael Long, Fort Smith, Ark.; three daughters, Regena Barrett, Wappapello, Mo., Peggy Fowler, Nixa, Mo., and Eugena (Gena) Skovran of Richmond, Texas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Lester Cunningham, Wappapello, Mo.; and two sisters, Nerine Hamilton, Saginaw, Mich., and AnnaLea Mansbridge of Fisk, Mo.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Sept. 13, in the Rainey-Mathis funeral Home in Dexter by Rev. Wendy Downing.

Burial followed in the Dudley Cemetery, Dudley, Mo.
