Lee Shaw, the son of James and Mozell Shaw, was born in Parma on Feb. 4, 1960, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at the age of 43.

Mr. Shaw was a former resident of Malden and Sikeston and had lived in Poplar Bluff the past nine months. Mr. Shaw was a sergeant with the Missouri Military Honors Program of the Missouri National Guard for the past seven years and had served on 966 military funeral details since 1999.

He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 14 years and had been in the Marine Corps League in St. Louis and Cape Girardeau.

Surviving are one son, Darren Shaw of Malden; his parents, James and Mozell Shaw of Malden; three brothers, Bennie J. Shaw of Elkhart, Ind., Elmer J. and Oscar L. Shaw, both of Malden; and five sisters, Bernice Dennis of Essex, Elsie Hester of St. Louis, Fanny Farr, Alfreda Shaw and Dorothy Shaw, all of Malden.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Otis Hawes of Poplar Bluff officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honor Guard.
