Clarence Parks, the son of the late John and Goldie Lock Parks, was born in Dudley, on Oct. 15, 1909, and died on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter at the age of 93.
Mr. Parks was raised in Dudley and moved to Pontiac, Mich., where he was a metal finisher with General Motors. He returned to Dudley in 1972. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dexter.
On Nov. 11, 1932, he was married to Mary Smothers in Dudley. She preceded him in death on July 11, 1997.
He is survived by two daughters, Vickie Lynn Newcomb and Janis Trador, both of Pontiac, Mich.; one son, Floyd Allen Parks of Pontiac, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis Parks of Dudley and Clyde William Parks of Paducah, Ky.; and two sisters, Laverne Grimes and Bernice Carpenter, both of Dudley.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, John and Millard Parks and two sisters, Dorothy Crowe and Polly Miller.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Larry Ward of Poplar Bluff officiating.
Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
