Mr. Martin had retired to Sikeston in 1983, and he moved to Farmington in 1984 where he owned and operated a boarding home for 12 years. He moved back to Bloomfield in May, 2002. He had served 21 years in the U.S. Army where he was a Senior Drill Sergeant.
He is survived by a special friend Deloris Tucker of Bloomfield; two brothers, Bill Martin of Sikeston, and Thomas E. Martin of Springfield; one sister, Pauline Lyons of Sikeston. Other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Carl O'Dell of Parma officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield at 1 p.m. with the Ft. Leonard Ward Military Honors Team conducting military rites.
