John J. Harrell, the son of the late Nathaniel and Ruby Leigh Powell Harrell, was born in Suffolk, Va., on Jan. 27, 1923, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on July 11, 2002, at the age of 79.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at the Committal Shelter in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors provided by the Delta Team of Cape Girardeau and the Stoddard County Veterans Honor Team.
