Darrell Young

Darrell Young, son of Geneva Jean Young of Poplar Bluff and the late Travis Hester Young, was born on Dec. 8, 1952, in Van Buren and died at his residence in Dexter on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at the age of 50.

Mr. Young was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Dexter, a former line worker at ArvinMeritor in Dexter, and a member of the Elks Lodge #2439 in Dexter.

Survivors include his mother, Geneva Jean Young of Poplar Bluff; two sons, Bradley Travis Young of Memphis, Tenn., and Shawn Michael Young of Springfield; two daughters, Amanda Louise Mautino of Lee Summitt and Candi Renae Young of Dexter; one brother, Dennis Young of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Charolette Thompson of Fisk and Sandra Clark of Dexter; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his father, Travis Hester Young.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Gresham Cemetery in Ellsinore with Rev. Ed Dunivan officiating.

Interment will follow in the Gresham Cemetery.
