Dorothy E. Lowrey, the daughter of the late Leonard and Nannie Mae Gilliam Lowrey, was born in Houlka, Miss., on Nov. 10, 1930, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at the age of 72.

Mrs. Lowrey had lived most of her life in Parma. She was a retired postal service employee and a member of the First Baptist Church in Parma.

Mrs. Lowrey is survived by one sister, Mary Lynn Skiles of Cape Girardeau; and one brother, James "Bud" Lowrey of Pine Bluff, Ark.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Jean Lowrey.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Parma with Rev. John Girdley of Parma and Dr. Derek Staples of Cape Girardeau officiating.

Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma is in charge of all arrangements.
